At my house!
I remember when I was in graduate school and sitting in class listening to random chit chatter during break. The topic of the best veggie burgers came up. One of my classmates proclaimed she makes the best black bean burgers at home. I thought to myself that she doesn’t even look like she can boil water much less cook a meal…ha ha #meangirl!
I don’t know why but I always assumed making veggie burgers to be a difficult task in the kitchen. You need the right consistency and weight for the patties, the right combination of powerful flavors and it should look appealing. By appealing I mean edible!
So today my friends I decided I wanted to try my hand at making a black bean burger (>_<)/ !

I Googled some recipes and visited some of my favorite vegan/vegetarian bloggers in order to conjure up my delightful patties own.
Here is some of the ingredients I used for my patties as well as the final results!
Black beans from Mega Mart that were way to expensive. They are cheaper at Home Plus. Oh I didn’t end up using the corn! |
Some of the veggies I used. |
Thank you to the little kebbler elf ajummas that cut up little tiny pieces of veggies and packaged it for less than $2! |
I also used a little salt and some Indian masala. |
Mix me baby! I tasted this and it would make a great dip or spread. Maybe next time I will save some. |
Fried! Sooo big! |
My pattie was bigger than my bun ! |
It turned out so delicious! It was really soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, kinda like falafel!
Me so happy! And full 🙂
