Blogging is a great way to be introduced to new travelers and their journeys.
I found Sheryll’s
“The Wanderlust Project” last year while living in Spain. I loved reading her reviews of Korean beauty products and her adventures around Asia.
Her new tales in Vietnam do not disppoint. Read on to find out about this glamtrotter!
1. Please introduce yourself.
Hi! I’m Sheryll. I’m a 28 year old adventurer and “glamtrotter”, currently living as an English teacher and curriculum developer in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I am the blogger behind the travel and Korean cosmetics beauty blog, The Wanderlust Project. I also recently started my own digital magazine called Glamtrotting, that explores beauty trends and cultures around the world.

2. What sparked your interest in exploring the world?
I studied abroad in London when I was in college, and it completely changed my life. Stepping outside of my comfort zone and being able to explore such a great city on my own terms set the precedent for all of my future travels. From then on, all I could think about was taking my next trip abroad. I still can’t believe I’ve traveled to over 15 countries so far!

3. As a young black female, what advice would you give to others inspired by your travels but afraid to take the first step?
Just make the first step, no matter how small it may be. For me, it started by researching travel blogs. Before I started my blog, I had no idea that people were making a living abroad digitally. Just hearing that gave me enough inspiration to finally get things in motion. I saved for a year before I quit my job, and then I finally made the plunge. Don’t get discouraged if it takes longer than expected. I’m a really impatient person and it was hard to not feel like I had “failed” because it was taking longer than I wanted, but it all paid off in the end.

4. How is life in Viet Nam for you? What are your likes and dislikes?
Life in Vietnam is amazing. I really, and truly love it here. The weather is great, the people are friendly, and the food is out of control amazing. And since it’s so inexpensive to live here, I’m able to indulge in happy hours, weekly mani/pedis/massages, save for more travel, and not work full time.

I don’t like the pollution or the traffic, and the shopping here is actually really awful.
Thankfully, Singapore and Bangkok are just a short (and cheap) flight away whenever I need to go shopping!
5. Where can people get in touch with you if they have any questions?
