It is finally here. The last day, of the last month, of 2014. I started this year out living in Puertollano, Spain while working as a teacher with BEDA Spain. And now I am currently serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Botswana. I can honestly say that the things that I visualized and worked towards with faith, came into fruition. 2015 will also be another awesome year. … [Read more...]
Still Standing
As I write this post the calendar says there are less than 11 days til Christmas and I've been a Peace Corps volunteer in Botswana for 4 months. Which means I've been at my site and officially a Peace Corps volunteer for 2 full months come tomorrow. There are so many things to update on which includes a mush of reflections and what life is like as a Peace Corps volunteer. But … [Read more...]
Life in Africa
I just want to post a quick message to say I am alive and well in Africa. Currently living in Botswana My internet situation is bit tricky at the moment. Peace Corps training doesn't leave much time in the evenings to head to an internet cafe. My option for WI-FI is the local library and it's painfully slow...painfully! Life has been an adjustment thus far. And actually … [Read more...]
Peace Corps Medical Expenses
O….M….G…!!!! I never thought to look up information about the cost of medical expenses from other bloggers until I started this process. I needed clarification and confirmation that this *ish is real! The stuff no one talks about…medical clearance is EXPENSIVE. Even if you have health insurance. Suffice to say I am completing ALL of my exams in Spain with documents that … [Read more...]
7 Reasons living in Spain changed my life!
Life changing moments can hit you when you least expect it. For me, this past year, has been littered with copious amounts of "ah ha" moments (as Oprah calls them). Living in Spain this second go around was more enlightening than the first time. From building new relationships, learning another language (again), contemplating career options, to spending so much time alone, … [Read more...]
My BEDA Experience
I get a lot of questions about my time with the BEDA program. I made a short video today during my hike/walk up to the El Miner statute in my town. At the end of the month I will make a more in depth video reflecting on all aspects of the program such as: 1. Arrival/orientation/Administrative staff 2. Your school BEDA liason 3. Teachers/staff 4. Students 5. Online class: … [Read more...]

And then time stopped…
I've been really busy lately traveling and trying to start an entrepreneurial endeavor. Oh yeah and moving along with my Peace Corps application. Had my final interview a week and a half ago. Def have been slacking on my blog posts. This weekend however will be a quiet one and I have a ton of posts to write and about 3 YouTube videos to film. I most likely will stop making … [Read more...]
Wanderlust
"...Journey of changing one's mind, heart, self or way of life…" Sums up my life in a nutshell right now. I feel incredibly drained at the moment . Not that things are going bad, but the small town mentality is starting to get to me. I wouldn't say I am bored but feel very UNINSPIRED and UNEXCITED by all around me. To everyone here I am the "Guiri" that "teaches English". … [Read more...]
Life changes
I've been absent lately due to moving and changing schools. I now live in a completely new city and am loving every moment. My previous school, even though I enjoyed it, was not following the BEDA model as it is outlined in the contract. As a result, I had to leave. Though I really miss the children, as a person living and working abroad I have to stand up for myself and speak … [Read more...]
