Still Standing

December 15, 2014 By Tamara

As I write this post the calendar says there are less than 11 days til Christmas and I’ve been a Peace Corps volunteer in Botswana for 4 months. Which means I’ve been at my site and officially a Peace Corps volunteer for 2 full months come tomorrow. There are so many things to update on which includes a mush of reflections and what life is like as a Peace Corps volunteer. But this internet situation gets me every time. Hopefully I’ll have internet at home soon. But soon aka “jaana” in Setwana really means like 3 years.

I know many readers find this blog searching for “BEDA” application tips and “Teaching in South Korea”, and now “Peace Corps volunteer Botswana”. It may look as though I am on a hiatus, I am still here to assist you if one of the older posts doesn’t answer all your questions. Just send me an email via the contact form above and I’ll try to respond within a week.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year where ever you are celebrating in the world. Keep your eyes on this space. There is so much new content to come! I just need reliable speedy internet! Now I know why all the blogs I found about “Botswana Peace Corps” were wordy sans and pictures. Haha! #boring!

I’ll leave you with a picture of this magical Baobab tree. From a another angle it actually looks like an elephant!

Thanks for the update! I can sympathize with the internet issue, so don’t worry. Hope all is well and that you’re enjoying every moment of the experience!
