Shampoo Bars!

February 5, 2012 By Tamara

I recently visited Olive and Young in Samsan-dong. This store carries tons of international brands of cosmetic products and snacks. So if you are missing something from home and don’t want to order online, I suggest checking here first!

I was missing my favorite Maybeline mascara (the one in the pink and green tube). Well they didn’t have that version but they have Maybeline mascara! I paid 10,400 won for a fat little yellow tube ๐Ÿ™‚

I also paid a ridiculous 8,000 won for two tubes of Burt’s Bees lip balm. I purchased two in the hopes to store one away. But as luck would have it I lost one on the bus a week later and had to open the extra one.

In the hair care aisle I saw these shampoo bars:

From France

No chemicals.

Cute donut shape

It stated that its made in France and free of chemicals and parabens. Now as I am on the annoying search of finding sustainable hair products in South Korea and updating my wash/condition regimen, these little donuts looked intriguing.

I’ve never heard of them but the price was a bit steep. At 11,900 won the shampoo bar was small enough to fit in the palm of my hand. BUT I guess if I only washed my hair once or twice a month with shampoo it could be a an affordable option.

Hmmm…I will let you know if I test it out.

Let me know if you have tried them out and how they have worked for you.

Happy washing!

I have never tried them or heard of them, but I like the concept of shampoo in a bar. Since my hair has grown and I use so much dax and gel, I would not mind using something like that.

Sounds interesting. Yes, you must let us know how it works out if you do try it.

I think once my black soap is finished I will go pick some up! Your hair looks great by the way ๐Ÿ™‚

All aboard!
