I love taking cruises. Especially with my mom. Cruising is a great way to see many destinations in a short amount of time. Let’s face it, some people don’t have a year or 2 months to go off and travel freely. But you can find the perfect cruise even if you have as little as a weekend.
Here are some of the reasons why I love cruises…in pictures!
Over packing 🙂
Me last May heading to Europe on a Carnival line cruise. |
My back pack AND a suitcase…which was under weight. My mom had to put some of her stuff inside my bag. |
I CAN OVER PACK! Yesss! Even though I always try not to.
But since the cruise ship is like your home for the days you are traveling, you can bring what you want and unpack once on the ship in your cozy room: )
The Port of Call 🙂
I honesty don’t even remember where this was. Maybe Naples? Or Venice..doh! >.< |
Pulling in to the port of call is an amazing sight ! I love waking up early and watching the ship pull up to our destination of the day. It looks so tiny until we finally stop and dock. I can’t help but imagine all the exploring that awaits me!
Exploring a city in 10 hours 🙂
Venice! |
Dubrovnik, Croatia. There are so many alleys to explore in this tiny city. This was my second time vising Croatia. It rained the first time in 2004 and it rained the second time in 2011…all day 🙁 |
Croatia…before it started pouring. |
To all the people that think you can’t have a great time exploring a city in a few hours…SHUT UP!
I feel like its a fun challenge to try and see all there is to see (well all that you want to see) in the few hours allotted by the cruise ship. You can either do an excursion that is organized by the cruise ship OR you can do the research ahead of time and figure out some exciting activities that you would like to do on your own. You can book your own tours with independent companies and get picked up and dropped off at the port. BUT you have to be willing to do the research yourself. And quite frankly, its not hard to do!
The Food Food glorious FOOD! 🙂
So many food options. And you can ask for two plates if you want to try another item on the menu!…I know I’m a fatty but there is nothing wrong with that! |
I think this was chicken?..But it looks good. |
It was Mothers day and the dining staff made this for all the Mommy’s on board 🙂 |
Salmon and mash potatoes! |
The food on Carnival cruise lines is really good. The only other line I have traveled with is Costa. Yes the cruise line that capsized not too long ago. Their food was OK…meh. But with Carnival they have so many options! Including food from different countries like Indian and Italy. It’s a foodies heaven really 🙂 And when all the restaurants are closed after hours you can always get some pizza and fries which stays open 24 hours!
The Animals on my bed!
My favorite animal! |
I love when I leave my room and come back later in the day to find towel animals and mint chocolate on my bed 🙂
The decor!
OK…this isn’t the best picture I could have used to showcase the decor. But its just to give you an idea. Every ship has their own way of decorating and its usually very tasteful. This little table was inside the theater. Its big enough to hold two drinks and a camera:)
Entertainment!!!
Say you don’t feel like leaving the ship or you would rather head out to the port later in the day. That is completely fine! There is plenty of on board entertainment to keep everyone occupied and happy.
Yup! So those are my reasons why cruising is fun! Have you ever been on a cruise ship vacation? How did you like it??
I’m no novice having been on 3 already BUT I am no expert either ha ha. However if you have questions please ask away!

awww haha that’s cute 🙂 You should do a cruise I know you will love it. I am learning these days that if its attainable in the “now” then go for it. Don’t wait. When you get your hubby you can be the cruise experts 🙂
