A few weeks ago I candidly shared about being “consistently inconsistent” with many of my goals last year. Creating ways to combat this issue is something I’ve been battling with since I wrote that post.
Recently I joined “Think and Grow Chick’s” March no excuses challenge and started out on the right foot. But I will shamelessly admit, my calendar, only has 2 “X’s”. But then I added a “sub-challenge” and that has 10 “X’s”.

Out of frustration with myself, it became imperative that I find a better way to instill self-discipline while remembering the intentions I’ve set.
If you follow the law of attraction then you may be familiar with Abraham Hicks. If not please look her up. She has a very simple strategy for focusing your energy to help improve the goals you set for your life.
It is known as a “focus wheel”. The notion behind it lies with the fact that you focus on the vibrational energy of things that you want to align in your life.
Steps to creating the Focus Wheel:
- You start by creating a giant circle on a piece of paper.
- Then you create a smaller circle in the center. You can then create about 10 to 12 pie slices (I’m hungry…haha) around the circle. Just imagine a large pizza or a bicycle wheel.
- In the center of the small circle write what it is that you desire or want to “focus on”.
- In each of the 10-12 “slices” write statements you feel will have a “low level of resistance” and get you closer to your desire.
Everything that you write should automatically feel good. And bring about positive emotions when you are reading it.
For example, I want to gain more self- discipline and post more content on this site. Therefore my focus wheel is centered around this desire.
Here is my example…well my actual focus wheel!
I will make this on poster board and hang it on my wall for daily viewing/reading.
I hope I explained it correctly.
If you are interested in learning more I suggest using google or Youtube to listen to Abraham Hicks explain in more detail.
At the end of the day no amount of prayer or creating focus wheels will help you if you don’t take action!
I’ve prayed so much to GOD about regaining my self-discipline. I honestly don’t know where it went and feel as though my excess traveling lifestyle has something to do with it.
Ummm hmmm, I’ll talk about this in my next post. I feel like my GOD is waiting for me however, to take action and stop being so darn lazy!
Since I want everyone battling this issue to succeed in over coming it, I’ve create a free downloadable focus wheel template like the one I used above ^_^
*There is a bug in the download. So I have removed it. Sorry!
This is also a great tool to use if you have any desires to travel or even to apply to ESL programs like BEDA or EPIK. It will keep you on toes to meet those deadlines!
You can pretty much use it for anything!
I hope this strategy works for you! If it does, please come back and leave a comment telling me about your progress.
See you soon 🙂
Go Siame.
