2014 is here!
While I had no qualms with 2013, I am happy it’s over 🙂
I learned a ton of lessons both in my personal and professional life and that I am thankful for.
But…there is so much more I need to accomplish!
And in 6 months I will enter the world of the “30 something” ha ha.
I’ve been on vacation since December 20th! In the BEDA program you get 18 days of winter vacation.
Last friday I headed to Cordoba to explore all the historical sites. I’ll share some pictures at the end.
It rained the entire day so I have to go back when it’s sunny!
Well everyone has told me that I need to go back in April/May when the flowers are out.
I didn’t make any resolutions this year. I just wrote down the 7 most important things that I shall improve both in my personal and professional life for 2014.
It was great experiencing NYE in Spain. I am glad I opted to stay in my town instead of heading to over crowded Madrid.
I had dinner with the family that owns my apartment. It was very small and intimate. We stuffed our faces with so much food. At midnight I was introduced to the Spanish tradition of eating 12 grapes. Then we all went around the room and said “¡Feliz año Nuevo!” With lots of hugs and kisses. The owners of my apartment ( I will refer to them as my abuelos) are really lovely. So is their daughter. She has helped me a ton here.
It was sad though to see my abuelos face fill with redness and tears. They lost their son about four years ago. So I know they thought of him in that moment.
Actually if I didn’t attend their dinner there would have been one empty space at the table. I’ve really been blessed by their kindness and appreciate it dearly.
Everything happens for a reason.
Here are some pictures from Cordoba:
