Natural Hair update

November 5, 2012 By Tamara

Right now my natural mane is doing pretty good :)  I am testing out some products and experimenting with new hair styles and having fun doing it! Also I am trying to overcome my "UTS". Which stands for ugly twist out syndrome :( For my next travel venture I will be in Jamaica for an entire month. I am so excited and can't wait to put on even MORE weight since returning home … [Read more...]

Women who inspire: Pink Fashion Ninja!

October 29, 2012 By Tamara

With Korean pop sensation PSY's "Gangnam style" still tearing up the air waves across the globe months after its release, one can't help but wonder... what next  from the "Hallyu" phenomenon will stir up a world wide trend!  I'd like to think its the fashion. Personally I am not a fan of straight Korean fashion (I guess you'd have to live there to truly know what I mean). … [Read more...]

LuvNaturals Hair Products review

October 10, 2012 By Tamara

Yes I know! I write about my travel life and rarely about product reviews. As you know I've have been back in America now and of course I am finding new things to write about :) But let me just say that no one is paying me to do this mess. I just needed to share what I've been wasting my money on since I returned from Asia :)   Out of obvious boredom and frivolous spending I … [Read more...]

Women who inspire: Learning Languages while traveling!

August 31, 2012 By Tamara

In April of this year I signed up for a free Korean language course held at city hall in Ulsan. The book for the class was the expense of the student. But this was OK with me since it turned out to be a really great study book! In this same class I met a young woman who exuded a bubbly confidence for language learning that was very infectious. I found out from her that … [Read more...]

Women who Inspire: Mipa Lee

July 6, 2012 By Tamara

Take at look at the picture below:  Photo credit Mipa Lee If I told you that the brownies pictured are the best brownies I've had in a long time and  they are vegan...would you believe me? Most importantly would you want to try them? ...? Well this is precisely how I found Mipa Lee! When embarking on a 30 day vegan challenge back in March, I read … [Read more...]

Women who Inspire: Christine Amorose

June 26, 2012 By Tamara

Hey awesome people!I would like to share the first installment of the 'Women who Inspire" series. Please meet fellow traveler and blogger Christine Amorose. Her story is quite unique and she has traveled to many places as a solo female traveler. I found her blog through twitter a few months ago and I've been hooked ever since! I love looking at all her pictures and her … [Read more...]

Women who Inspire!

June 17, 2012 By Tamara

When I started blogging last year I created a post series called "TravelingNatural"after my moniker. It was a way for me to talk to different naturals and learn how they take care of their hair while traveling. I started by interviewing friends and family then asked some natural hair YouTube gurus not even thinking they would say yes! That series was very fun to do and it … [Read more...]

What’s Pink and Orange and Black all over?

May 16, 2012 By Tamara

Sunday wash day was a trip! 7 hours of Henna, Indigo and Curlformers! *Whew! Crazy! I've been watching too many YT hair videos. This is how I ended up with darn Curlformers ha ha. But I thought it would be a great addition to my traveling arsenal of hair supplies.  Here is a picture of my hair Monday morning when removing the curl formers. I don't like how the end came out … [Read more...]

Henna, Tumeric and one laid back saturday!

May 12, 2012 By Tamara

I'm tired. So tireeeed that I feel it in my bones. I know I sound like an inactive 90 year old, but this past week at school was hella crazy.  Starting to think there is something in the kimchi and really glad I don't eat school lunch anymore. My students were absolutely insane this week. Ha ha well just the boys.  I think they were just SUPER amped up since sports day is … [Read more...]

Traveling with Natural hair: picture of growth

April 20, 2012 By Tamara

This is a picture of my twists in October 2010. I was sitting in my bedroom in my host mothers host in Madrid, Spain.  I miss that room :(  ...and Spain.  This is my hair last month, March 2012, after washing and styling in the same twist. Just a lot juicier :) How do you care for your hair while traveling?? … [Read more...]
