While my school had their annual “school picnic” yesterday, I was given the day off! YAY me!…I didn’t really care why they gave me the day off as opposed to going to the picnic, but I took the opportunity to get away and enjoy some nice weather.
Initially I was headed out to Seoul for the weekend, but then decided to go window shopping in Nampo-dong, Busan instead.
This area is the previous home of the Pusan International Film Festival (last year it was held in Haeundae beach).
I arrived in Busan after 2:00pm and the streets were crowded. I walked around for a while with no aim in mind. I really wanted to find nice everyday wedge sandals that I can travel with. But I didn’t find anything worth spending money on. At around 3:00 pm my stomach started to grumble and requested something other than Korean nom noms today. Picky little bugger! Luckily I stumbled upon a place called “Farmers Original Handmade burgers”.
If you come out of the Nampo stop (off the orange line) at exit 7 and take a left its about one block down across from”Coffee and Fry”.
The sign was eye catching so I went to investigate the menu. They had a chicken burger option so that was my selection. Take a look at the menu.
There are 8 options for burgers. One is a chicken burger. All burgers come with a drink selection and fries for 10,000 won. |
I liked the decor of this place. It had an old school feel too it. The walls were plastered with magazine clippings and posters for underground rock and hip-hop concerts being held in Korea. It was very modestly decorated with colorful chairs and school lunchroom style tables.
After poking around and taking a few pictures I carefully walked down the stairs to wait for my lunch. A very friendly Korean guy was at the counter this time donning a mo-hawk and a smile. With my order in tow, I walked up the stairs again to floor number 4 this time. This place has five floors apparently. Number five is a rooftop but it was closed.
My chicken burger was packaged in a take out wrapping. I believe this is how all the meals come regardless of dining in or taking out.
My chicken burger looked nothing like the picture. In the picture was fresh grilled chicken with sauce slathered over it. In my buns was a crispy chicken patty. It was tasty though…*shrugs*
The fries that come with the meal were potato wedges and you get about 12 ha ha…no lie just look at the picture.
maybe 10-12 fries. They place them in the bottom of the bag sans separate packaging. |
My tummy was a pretty happy camper for the rest of the day. The chicken burger was huge and I didn’t need to eat dinner later that evening. It was pretty filling. For me anyway 🙂
If you are ever in the Nampo-dong area check out this restaurant. Its pretty cheap considering the quality of the meal. And the atmosphere was pretty good.
Happy nom noms!
