Bến Thành Market

September 3, 2012 By Tamara

Before the cooking class we met up at Bến Thành Market .
Its one of the most famous stops in Saigon aka Ho Chi Minh City. We of course did a tour of the produce and meat sections and purchased items for our class. I ate some breakfast (noodles) before meeting up with the group. Here is a look at some photos from the market.

condiments for your noodles
More condiments!
I chose this spot because it said “vegetarian/vegan” when I ordered my noodles the lady asked if I wanted chicken and shrimp 🙁
There was tofu and some other gray flat substance that I wasn’t sure about 🙁
Tofu everywhere tofu!
Chicken eggs
Crabs
I thought her phone was cute.
Lotus root
Business as usual
Raw tumeric. Looks just like ginger but orange 🙂
He drank to much tanqueray and ended up here.
Eeeeel…but it does taste good…cooked 🙂
Me looking about something…look how dry my hair is! I swear my hair has sun burn 🙁
Business transaction done!
Yummy things come in green 🙂
The one that got away..didn’t get very far.
Beef bones and Knee caps for soup.
Oxtail…looks like ballerina legs.
Exactly what you think it is…
Multi-tasking!
You want juice? I have all the flavors you need!
I thought he was adorable and he was working hard to make a sale.
