Yes and No. No, because the products I use are consistent, and Yes because when home I have the convenience of experimenting with my hair. When I travel I make sure I have a set style that my hair will have for the duration of the trip.
3. What about what you did for nighttime?
I night I spritzed my hair with water and re-applied dime size amount of Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie to my hair and I wrap my hair with a satin scarf. I enjoy using that product because it does not build up in my hair.
4. Have you been out swimming at all? If so how did you prepare your hair?
Crystal Coastal Beach, NC |
I don’t wear my hair in a particular way when flying. However I usually wear a hooded shirt and place over my head when I am lounging in the seat to minimize my hair from interacting with the seat fabric and because I am germaphobe lol.
6. What are some complements you get on your hair while traveling ( can be from just around town)?
My travels thus far are mostly within the States. As I go farther from the big city where the natural hair population is small I noticed complements are less. In cities similar to New York, it is common to get inquires regarding what type of products I use to get my hair to look like “X” and complements on a particular style I am wearing for that day. And in those cases I give them websites, product line names…the works :+)
7. What do you love about being natural? What annoys you?
I love being natural!! It is a continual journey for me. I enjoy walking in the rain without an umbrella (sometimes I have my umbrella and just decide not to use it. It is liberating!). I find when I take care of my hair it becomes a time that I connect my mind with my body. I am more in tuned with what I am putting on and in my body. As a result I pursue natural alternatives throughout my daily life. Additionally, I really appreciate the community of naturals because there would be something that becomes a challenge (annoyance) when taking care of my hair and with a little research I have an option to a solution to that challenge. Thank you fellow naturals!! So, my natural hair doesn’t annoy me :+)
